Given Creighton Prep's advantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 27th, while the Patriots are ranked 103rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Creighton Prep's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dillon Claussen, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds. Claussen is crushing the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Carson Jones, who scored 17 points.
Despite the loss, Millard South saw an underclassman step up: Koby Meyers scored 15 points along with five rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Carter Margheim, who scored eight points along with two steals.
Creighton Prep's win bumped their record up to 12-5. As for Millard South, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-10.
Creighton Prep will be playing in front of their home fans against the Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Millard South, they will head out on the road to take on the Huskies at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Omaha Northwest focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Saturday.
