 For Calhoun Academy's part,  Colt Layton made a splash no matter where he played. He  tossed seven innings while giving up  four earned  (and one unearned) runs off   six  hits. Layton has been consistent recently: he hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in four consecutive pitching appearances. Layton was also solid in the batter's box,  scoring two  runs while  getting on base  in two of his four plate appearances.
 Layton wasn't  the only one making solid contact as  four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was  Landon Barnes, who  scored two  runs while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was  Jospeh Lyons, who  scored a  run while going 2-for-3.
 Patrick Henry Academy's defeat  ended  a  three-game streak of wins at home  and  dropped them to 16-4. As for Calhoun Academy, they have  been performing  well recently as they've  won four of their last five matchups,  which provided a nice bump to their 20-8 record  this season.
 As of now, neither Patrick Henry Academy nor Calhoun Academy have any future games scheduled.
