The Cardington-Lincoln Pirates had to hit the road for their first game and sadly it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They were the victim of a tough 60-40 loss at the hands of North Union on Wednesday. Cardington-Lincoln lost against North Union in their previous head to head back in November of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 47-32 score last time.
Despite the loss, Cardington-Lincoln still got an impressive performance from Abigail Hardwick, who scored 15 points along with 6 assists and 6 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Lydia Hess, who scored 10 points along with 4 steals.
Cardington-Lincoln's defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for North Union, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.
Cardington-Lincoln will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Pleasant at 7:30 p.m. As for North Union, they will head out on the road to face off against River Valley at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
