The Grant Cougars's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their seventh straight loss. They were dealt a 91-10 defeat at the hands of Peabody. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Grant has scored all season.
Justin Burns was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 25 points and 15 rebounds for Peabody. Burns continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaiah Jones, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds.
Grant has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost nine of their last ten matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-18 record this season. As for Peabody, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 23-4.
Grant will be playing at home against Neville at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Neville is no doubt hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Peabody, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Ponchatoula at 5:30 p.m. on January 27th. Ponchatoula has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 336 points over their last five contests.
