Sadly, Sonoran Science Academy are still looking for their first win of the season after 14 games. They had to suffer through a rough 51-13 loss at the hands of Thunderbird Adventist Academy. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Sonoran Science Academy of the 53-6 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in November of 2023.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Thunderbird Adventist Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Katy Bayer, who scored 21 points along with three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Bayer has scored all season. Shiloh Douglas was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with six steals.
Sonoran Science Academy dropped their record down to 0-14 with that defeat, which was their seventh straight at home. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 13.4 points per game. As for Thunderbird Adventist Academy, their win bumped their record up to 5-6.
Sonoran Science Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Thunderbird Adventist Academy, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Jones-Gordon at 6:45 p.m. on February 8th. The two teams have allowed few points on average, (Jones-Gordon: 29.4, Thunderbird Adventist Academy: 27.9) so any points scored will be well earned.
