The Flanagan-Cornell Falcons's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight defeat. They had to suffer through a rough 67-27 loss at the hands of Fieldcrest. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Flanagan-Cornell has scored all season.
Kesler Collins and Mason Rich certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Collins scored eight points along with 14 rebounds and three blocks, while Rich scored five points along with two steals.
Flanagan-Cornell struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Flanagan-Cornell has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 15-12 record this season. As for Fieldcrest, the victory was the 14th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 24-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Flanagan-Cornell's road trip will continue as they head out to face LeRoy at 7:00 p.m. on February 9th. Flanagan-Cornell is facing LeRoy at the right time seeing as LeRoy is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Fieldcrest, they will head out on the road to face off against Roanoke-Benson at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Fieldcrest is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Roanoke-Benson in Illinois (Fieldcrest is ranked 35th, while Roanoke-Benson is ranked 616th).
