The Lakeland Dreadnaughts waltzed into their match on Tuesday with two straight wins but they left with three. They took down Auburndale 58-41. Given Lakeland's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 83rd, while Auburndale is ranked 440th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Jamesion Young, who scored ten points along with six rebounds and six steals. Ben Bemer was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with ten rebounds.
Lakeland's victory was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-2. As for Auburndale, they have fallen quite a ways from their 21-9 record last season and are now at 5-11.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lakeland will face off against Blanche Ely at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Auburndale, they will head out on the road to face off against Winter Haven at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
