Meanwhile, St. James took care of business in their home opener on Saturday (barely). They had just enough and edged St. John's Catholic Prep out 41-38.
St. James' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Samuel Stonebraker led the charge by rushing for 51 yards and two touchdowns. Aiden Carter was in the mix as well, providing St. James with a fumble recovery touchdown touchdowns.
St. James' defense was in the mix too, especially the secondary: they snagged three passes before it was all said and done. The picks came courtesy of William Taffe and Liam Hall. Taffe also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, making four total tackles and defending a pass in addition to snagging two interceptions.
