The Miller Place Panthers waltzed into their match Wednesday with three straight wins but they left with four. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Pierson/Bridgehampton and snuck past 33-31. This was payback for Miller Place, who suffered a 33-31 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Miller Place's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ava Zicchinelli, who scored 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooke Callaghan, who scored ten points.
The victory got Miller Place back to even at 4-4. As for Pierson/Bridgehampton, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-1.
