Bryce Staats threw for four touchdowns as
Danville (Ohio) bested Fredericktown (Ohio) 52-21 on Saturday.
The Blue Devils were up 22-13 at the half after taking the lead on a
Austin Hazen touchdown run in the second quarter.
Danville expanded its lead to 17 points entering the fourth quarter. DHS scored four times in the third, including once on a Staats touchdown pass to
Cade Mickley.
A 14-point fourth quarter was enough to cement the win for the Blue Devils, as they pushed the final margin of victory to 31.
Staats was the top performer for Danville. The senior quarterback ran for one touchdown.
The victory will ease some of the sting of DHS's close 28-26 loss to the Freddies last season.
Danville (3-1) goes up against Centerburg in a Mid-Buckeye game matchup next week, while Fredericktown (2-2) locks horns with Johnstown-Monroe also in a Mid-Buckeye game.
