The Westminster Academy Lions will face off against the JC Bermudez Doral Thunder at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (Westminster Academy 3.8, JC Bermudez Doral 3.6) so any runs scored will be well earned.
While Westminster Academy's victory against South Plantation wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Westminster Academy skirted past South Plantation 5-4.

Jayden Garcia was a standout: he scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-3. He is becoming a predictor of Westminster Academy's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 5-6 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Ryan Dejnak, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one double, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, JC Bermudez Doral entered their tilt with Miami Beach on Monday with five consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with six. They put the hurt on the Hi-Tides with a sharp 16-4 win. The Thunder's hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Noslen Sanchez made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over five innings while giving up four earned runs off seven hits (and only one walk). The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in strikeouts. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
In other pitching news, Cristian Sanchez looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (three).
Back at the plate, JC Bermudez Doral let Daniel Rivaflecha and Brandon Santiso run wild. Rivaflecha scored two runs and stole a base while going 4-for-5, while Santiso scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits Santiso has posted since back in April of 2024. David Padron was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.
JC Bermudez Doral always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .634. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive matches.
JC Bermudez Doral's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-4. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Westminster Academy, their win bumped their record up to 8-6.
