Baseball Recap: Silver Takes a Loss

Silver suffered their biggest loss since March 9th on Friday. They lost 20-5 to the Cobre Indians. The Fighting Colts were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Indians earlier this season, when they won 18-6.

Danian Flores made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. He is becoming a predictor of Silver's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 3-1 (and 5-6 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Devion Gonzalez, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles.

This is the second loss in a row for Silver and nudges their season record down to 8-7. As for Cobre, their victory bumped their record up to 4-6.

Silver and Cobre will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next matchups. The next time the Fighting Colts see the field they'll take on Santa Teresa at 6:00 p.m. on April 6. As for Cobre, their break will end when they face Hot Springs at 6:00 p.m. on April 7.
