Baseball Recap: First State Military Academy Comes Up Short

After flying high against Odyssey Charter last Thursday, First State Military Academy came back down to earth. The Bulldogs lost 14-3 to the Archmere Academy Auks on Tuesday. The Bulldogs have struggled against the Auks recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost meeting.

First State Military Academy saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Steven Bright, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Bright is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.

First State Military Academy now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Archmere Academy, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. First State Military Academy will challenge Newark at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Archmere Academy, they will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Concord at 3:00 p.m. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (the Auks have won three straight at home, while the Raiders won four straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
