The Floyd County Buffaloes will take on the Appomattox County Raiders at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Floyd County 4, Appomattox County 3.1) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Aiden Bakely was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one triple, and two RBI. Floyd County is 6-1 when Bakely posts two or more stolen bases, but 9-10 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Adam Petty, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.
Meanwhile, Appomattox County came tearing into Thursday's match with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.2 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They never let the Knights get on the board and left with a 2-0 victory.
James River's batters probably weren't too happy with Owen Chavis, who pitched a no hitter and racked up ten Ks (he gave up zero walks). Chavis has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Appomattox County's win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Jack Wilkerson, who went 2-for-3 with one run.
Appomattox County's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-6. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Floyd County, their record is now 15-11.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Floyd County has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.9 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Appomattox County struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.4 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one. Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
