The St. Joseph Academy Bloodhounds's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their sixth straight loss. They fell to St. Anthony 81-75. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
When it comes to explaining why St. Joseph Academy lost, one person who can't be blamed is Lucas Cristiano. Despite the final result, he scored 25 points along with seven assists and seven rebounds. Those seven assists set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Oscar Balli, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds.
St. Joseph Academy now has a losing record at 9-10. As for St. Anthony, their victory bumped their record up to 13-11.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. Joseph Academy will take on TMI-Episcopal at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. TMI-Episcopal is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses. As for St. Anthony, they have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome St. Augustine at 8:00 p.m. on January 12th. St. Augustine is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.
