There's no place like home for the Powell Panthers, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Friday. Everything went their way against Halls on Tuesday as Powell made off with a 60-35 win. The match was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Powell had established a 20 point advantage.
Several Red Devils players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jarrell Chandler, who scored six points along with five rebounds and two steals. It was the first time this season that Chandler grabbed two or more steals. Colby Comparato was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Powell's win bumped their record up to 20-4. As for Halls, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-14.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Powell will face off against Oak Ridge at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Oak Ridge's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last 17 matchups. As for Halls, they and Knoxville Central will face off at 7:15 p.m. on February 8th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Halls focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Tuesday.
