Benton came tearing into Thursday's matchup with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.4 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against the Captain Shreve Gators as they made off with a 10-3 victory. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won 15 contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Benton's win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-1. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.9 runs on average over those games. As for Captain Shreve, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 14-9.
