The Roma Gladiators put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They took their contest at home with ease, bagging a 62-0 victory over Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Southwest. Considering Roma has won four contests by more than 23 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Issac Lozano was on fire: he rushed for 277 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 13.2 yards per carry. Lozano really tore up the turf during one magnificent 72-yard run. The team also got some help courtesy of Ediel Garcia, who rushed for 135 yards and a touchdown on only six carries.
Roma's win was their fourth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 9-0. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 47.8 points per game. As for Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Southwest, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.
Roma will head out on the road to face off against Mission Veterans Memorial at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given how much these teams ran in their prior games. As for Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Southwest, they will be playing at home against Sharyland at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Sharyland is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
