The Southwest Florida Christian King will venture away from home to take on the Fort Myers Green Wave at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Southwest Florida Christian is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.6 runs per game this season.

Last Tuesday, Southwest Florida Christian didn't have quite enough to beat Palmetto Ridge and fell 11-10. That's two games in a row now that the King's have lost by just one run.

Aiden Matyas made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. Boston Berge was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run.

Fort Myers' found some homefield redemption this week after a overtime loss to North Port on Wednesday. The Green Wave came out on top against IMG Academy Blue by a score of 11-7. The Green Wave haven't had any issues with the Ascenders recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Adler Cervio looked comfortable as he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out seven over four innings pitched. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Alexander Mankin was incredible, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in doubles (two). Another player making a difference was Brady Best, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.

This is the second loss in a row for Southwest Florida Christian and nudges their season record down to 11-9. Even worse, they were so close both times: the defeats came by an average of only one runs. As for Fort Myers, their win bumped their record up to 14-8.

Southwest Florida Christian beat Fort Myers 8-5 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the King's since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
