Softball Recap: Roosevelt's Win Ends Three-Game Losing Streak on the Road

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Torres, Roosevelt was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They walked away with a 13-9 victory over the Madera South Stallions. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 17-5 victory two weeks ago.

Iyanna Molano made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over five innings pitched. Molano was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Lenna Garcia, who went 2-for-5 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Alicia Maldonado, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Roosevelt kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Madera South only managed one hit.

Roosevelt's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-11. As for Madera South, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-19 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Roosevelt will face off against Hoover at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. The Patriots will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something the Rough Riders surely won't give up without a fight. As for Madera South, they will challenge San Joaquin Memorial at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Stallions are facing the Panthers at the right time seeing as the Panthers are stuck on an 11-game losing streak.
