Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Potsdam couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They fell 61-49 to the Marcellus Mustangs on Wednesday. The Sandstoners' defeat signaled the end of their 14-game winning streak.

Marcellus' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Tucker Burnett led the charge by dropping a double-double with 19 points and ten rebounds. The matchup was Burnett's third in a row with at least 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mitch Donegan, who went 7-for-17 to rack up 19 points and four steals.

Potsdam's loss dropped their record down to 21-3. As for Marcellus, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 20-4.

While Potsdam had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
