Matoaca is a perfect 10-0 against Prince George since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Warriors will take on the Royals at 5:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Prince George will face off against a team with plenty of momentum: Matoaca extended their winning streak to three on Thursday. Everything went the Warriors' way against Thomas Dale as they made off with a 7-0 win. Give the Warriors' pitching crew some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.
Thomas Dale's batters probably weren't too happy with Kaylee Hodges, who pitched a no hitter and racked up 17 Ks (she gave up zero walks). Hodges has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than one earned run any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Savannah Wright, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Raven Crabtree was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two RBI and one run.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Matoaca kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Prince George came out on top against Colonial Heights on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive nine-run third inning. The Royals beat the Colonials by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 14-7. The victory continues a trend for the Royals in their matchups with the Colonials: they've now won seven in a row.
Payton Finney was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Finney was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with one home run, two runs, and one triple.
In other batting news, Kaylee Moody and Abbie Sars did most of the damage at the plate: Moody went 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI, while Sars went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one double. Another player making a difference was Kaitlyn Hacker, who went 2-for-5 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
Matoaca's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-3. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.0 runs on average over those games. As for Prince George, their record is now 13-5.
Everything went Matoaca's way against Prince George when the teams last played back in April, as Matoaca made off with a 10-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Warriors since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
