The North Mesquite Stallions''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their ninth straight loss. They fell to McKinney North 28-23. While losing is never fun, North Mesquite can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 455th, while McKinney North is ranked 71st).
Despite the loss, North Mesquite still got an impressive performance from Luke Seder, who rushed for 80 yards and a touchdown.
North Mesquite's defeat was their tenth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 1-9. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 9-1 Longview and 8-2 North Forney (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 56.3% over those games). As for McKinney North, their win bumped their record up to 7-3.
North Mesquite does not have any more games scheduled as of now. McKinney North will take on Barbers Hill at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
