The Lee's Summit West Titans will head out on the road to square off against the Jefferson City Jays at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Lee's Summit West has now lost nine straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 29.
Last Monday, Lee's Summit West was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 40-36 to Truman. While losing is never fun, Lee's Summit West can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 331st, while Truman is ranked 115th).
Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Jefferson City's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They received a tough blow as they fell 65-48 to Tipton.
Lee's Summit West bumped their record down to 1-10 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Jefferson City, their loss dropped their record down to 8-6.
Lee's Summit West came up short against Jefferson City when the teams last played back in December of 2020, falling 68-59. Can Lee's Summit West avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
