Propelled by three straight champions, and four in the last five years, Charlotte Catholic is the most dominant high school football team from North Carolina over the last decade.
Based on MaxPreps methodology, the Cougars amassed 304 points from play over 2010 to 2019 to edge Mallard Creek, which finished second with 287 points.
Charlotte Catholic won a title in 2015 before ripping off three straight crowns, including the 2019 season that concluded with a wild 56-49, seven-overtime semifinal win over Kings Mountain before a 23-7 championship win over Southern Nash.
Mallard Creek won three straight 4AA state titles starting in 2013, when it went 16-0.
