The Miami Valley Christian Academy Lions will face off against the Madeira MUSTANGS/AMAZONS at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Miami Valley Christian Academy is coming into the game hot, having won their last five games.
On Monday, Miami Valley Christian Academy earned an 8-4 victory over Goshen.
Evan Lafferty was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Autry, who went 3-for-5 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Miami Valley Christian Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in five consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Madeira owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Monday. They walked away with a 4-0 win over Taylor.
Madeira's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Carson Shafer, who went 3-for-4 with two triples and two runs. Those two triples gave Shafer a new career-high.
Madeira is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.8 runs over those games. As for Miami Valley Christian Academy, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-2.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Miami Valley Christian Academy has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 6.3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Madeira struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Miami Valley Christian Academy beat Madeira 6-3 in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Do the Lions have another victory up their sleeve, or will the MUSTANGS/AMAZONS turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
