At the plate, Kay'La Jones was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. She has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last six times she's played. Nataly Martinez also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
Jones wasn't the only one making solid contact: Trinity Christian Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Seabreeze only managed one hit.
Fans were treated to a battle of the Eagles on Friday. First Academy walked away with a 9-4 win over Calvary Chapel Academy.
First Academy also let their pitcher toss all seven innings and she was also dialed-in: Rebecca Barnett gave up four earned runs on 14 hits and racked up eight Ks.
On the hitting side, Ashlyn Neiford was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Madi Myers, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
Trinity Christian Academy pushed their record up to 10-4 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 20.0 runs over those games. As for First Academy, their record is now 5-6.
First Academy's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Trinity Christian Academy has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10.4 hits per game. It's a different story for First Academy, though, as they've been averaging 12.2 hits.
