The St. Pius X Warriors will be playing in front of their home fans against the St. Teresa's Academy Stars at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
St. Pius X posted their biggest victory yet this season on Saturday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Visitation Academy 50-23 at home. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 37-8.
St. Pius X got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Kate Sell out in front who scored 13 points along with five rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Caroline McCoy, who scored nine points along with five rebounds.
In what's become a running theme this season, St. Teresa's Academy gave their fans yet another huge win on Friday. They blew past Visitation Academy 60-30 at home. Given St. Teresa's Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 79th, while Visitation Academy is ranked 369th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
St. Pius X's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-8. As for St. Teresa's Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season.
Things could have been worse for St. Pius X, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 41-23 loss to St. Teresa's Academy in their previous matchup back in January of 2023.
