Benet Academy is a perfect 6-0 against West Aurora since August of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Redwings will face off against the Blackhawks at 5:00 p.m. Benet Academy is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last five games.

Benet Academy is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Illinois' top teams: Marist, who was ranked first at the time (Benet Academy was ranked third). The Redwings walked away with a 2-0 victory over the RedHawks on Tuesday.

Benet Academy never let Marist on the board, but things got pretty close in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 27-25, 25-19.

Meanwhile, West Aurora sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over South Elgin on Tuesday.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was West Aurora who won the one that mattered. The final score came out to 25-23, 22-25, 25-23.

Benet Academy better keep an eye on Angelina Ortiz. She was instrumental in West Aurora's win, getting 13 digs. That's the most digs Ortiz has posted since back in September.

Benet Academy's victory bumped their record up to 26-2. As for West Aurora, their win bumped their record up to 18-8.

Benet Academy beat West Aurora 2-0 in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. Will the Redwings repeat their success, or do the Blackhawks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
