Make it four blowout wins for the Roosevelt Roughriders this season. They put the hurt on Chief Sealth with a sharp 75-55 win on Saturday. Given Roosevelt's advantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 31st, while Chief Sealth is ranked 344th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Roosevelt to victory, but perhaps none more so than Dante Washington, who scored 18 points. Washington continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Caden Young, who scored 14 points.
Despite the loss, Chief Sealth still got an impressive performance from Anthony Williams-bradley, who scored 25 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Gabe Kearney, who scored 15 points.
Chief Sealth struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only two offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Roosevelt's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.3 points per game. As for Chief Sealth, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-10.
Roosevelt will head out on the road to square off against Cleveland at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Cleveland knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matches -- so hopefully Roosevelt likes a good challenge. As for Chief Sealth, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Ingraham at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Ingraham is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak.
