Jefferson has won three straight games at home, while Monroe has won three straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Tuesday. The Eagles will welcome the Cheesemakers at 5:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Jefferson 1.4, Monroe 3.5) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Jefferson is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They never let Edgerton get on the board and left with a 14-0 victory on Monday. The win continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Crimson Tide: they've now won eight in a row.
Hildie Dempsey and Bre Mengel were major factors no matter where they played. On the mound, Dempsey tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Meanwhile, Mengel tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Dempsey has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up a single earned run in seven consecutive appearances. At bat, Dempsey went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base, while Mengel went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
In other batting news, Ashlyn Enke was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. Aeryn Messmann was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI.
Jefferson always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. The last time their OBP was this high was back in May of 2024.
Meanwhile, Monroe sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-0 victory over Reedsburg on Saturday.
Monroe has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.8 runs over those games. As for Jefferson, their victory bumped their record up to 12-2.
Jefferson was able to grind out a solid win over Monroe when the teams last played back in April of 2024, winning 7-2. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Cheesemakers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
