The Apprentice Academy Red Wolves's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their 20th straight loss dating back to last season. They had to suffer through a rough 79-39 loss at the hands of Central Academy. Apprentice Academy was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 43-21.
It was another big night for Zach Mcdowell, who dropped a double-double on 34 points and 22 rebounds for Central Academy. Mcdowell set a new season high mark in steals with seven. The team also got some help courtesy of Michael Hoff, who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds and seven steals.
Apprentice Academy's defeat was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-2. As for Central Academy, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-6.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Apprentice Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Comenius at 6:00 p.m. on January 3, 2024. Central Academy won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Montgomery Central at 7:30 p.m. on December 12th.
