In what's become a running theme this season, the Overhills Jaguars gave their fans yet another huge victory on Friday. They blew past Harnett Central 53-18 on the road. Given Overhills' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 194th, while Harnett Central is ranked 442nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Overhills' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Eva Mcrae led the charge by scoring 13 points along with six steals and five blocks. Mcrae hasn't dropped below two blocks for seven straight games. Anaiah Mcgee was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with six steals and five rebounds.
Overhills has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten matches, which provided a massive bump to their 12-8 record this season. As for Harnett Central, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-13.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Overhills will challenge Triton at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Harnett Central, they will head out on the road to take on Pine Forest at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
