The Silver Creek Black Knights will square off against the Randolph Cardinals at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Silver Creek took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They came out on top against Frewsburg by a score of 10-7. The win continues a trend for the Black Knights in their matchups with the Bears: they've now won three in a row.
The team relied heavily on Rylee Weiskerger, who went 2-for-4 with four runs, two stolen bases, and one RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Priya Sakpal, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, one double, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Randolph). Their pitcher stepped up to hand Brocton a 13-0 shutout on Monday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Cardinals with their most commanding win of the season.
Aliza Hind was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out nine over five innings pitched. Hind was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of her four plate appearances with three runs.
In other batting news, Randolph got a massive performance out of Sadie S.Steward, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, two doubles, and one RBI. Quinn Pence was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Randolph kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Brocton only managed two hits.
Silver Creek's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-4-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Randolph, their victory bumped their record up to 6-8.
Silver Creek couldn't quite get it done against Randolph when the teams last played two weeks ago as they fell 12-7. Will the Black Knights have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more softball content.
