The Leggett Pirates's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They were dealt a 81-29 defeat at the hands of Brookeland. Leggett has struggled against Brookeland recently, as their game on Friday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, Leggett still got an impressive performance from Tamera Henderson, who scored 15 points along with five blocks and three steals. Henderson is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Bianca Perkins, who scored nine points along with two blocks.
Leggett has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-18 record this season. As for Brookeland, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 16-8.
Leggett will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Burkeville at 4:00 p.m. Burkeville comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 20 points in their last eight games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. As for Brookeland, they will head out on the road to take on High Island on Tuesday. High Island has insisted on making their lastthree contests complete nail-biters, turning in a record of 0-3 during that stretch of close contests.
