Baseball Recap: New Trier Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

New Trier waltzed into their matchup on Monday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They put the hurt on the Glenbrook South Titans with a sharp 10-3 win. Considering the Trevians have won nine contests by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Nick Bailey looked comfortable as he pitched 3.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, New Trier got a big performance out of Ben Toft, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI Toft has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Keenan Donaldson, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

New Trier's record is now 15-5-1. As for Glenbrook South, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-13.

New Trier will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Titans: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
