Baseball Recap: Ashland's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Ashland put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They put the hurt on the Mansfield Senior Tygers with a sharp 16-3 win. That's more bragging rights for the Arrows, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Ajay Wormnan and Michael Franz did most of the damage at the plate: Wormnan scored two runs while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances, while Franz scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-5. That's the most runs Franz has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Trent Summers, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

Ashland was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .424. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mansfield Senior only posted a batting average of .200.

Ashland's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Mansfield Senior, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.

Ashland will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Tygers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
