If the Cochranton Cardinals were feeling good off their 58-31 takedown of the Maplewood Tigers last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Cochranton lost to the Orioles on the road by a decisive 84-66 margin on Friday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Tuesday (58), Cochranton still had to take the loss.
Rocky Grove got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Landen Carter out in front who scored 21 points along with six assists and five rebounds. Noah Baughman was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with seven assists.
Cochranton's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Rocky Grove, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 12-6.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cochranton will take on the Bears at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Union City has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Rocky Grove, they have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome the at 7:30 p.m. on February 6th. Kennedy Catholic is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.
