Clawson is 1-9 against Center Line since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Clawson Trojans will head out on the road to square off against the Center Line Panthers at 7:00 p.m. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Clawson has struggled recently with 17 losses in a row, while Center Line will arrive with five straight victories.
Last Friday, Clawson had to suffer through a rough 64-30 loss at the hands of Bloomfield Hills.
Meanwhile, even though Denby scored an imposing 56 points on Monday, Center Line still came out on top. Center Line enjoyed a cozy 71-56 win over Denby. Given Center Line's advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 209th, while Denby is ranked 559th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Center Line relied on the efforts of Jordan Zeigler, who scored 24 points along with seven rebounds and four steals, and Terez Holmes, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 12 rebounds. Holmes has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last eight times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kameren Broughton, who scored 11 points along with four steals.
Clawson's loss was their ninth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-17. As for Center Line, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-2 record this season.
Clawson came up short against Center Line in their previous matchup last Tuesday, falling 50-40. Can Clawson avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
