Bay and Holy Name are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2017, but not for long. The Bay Rockets will head out on the road to face off against the Holy Name Green Wave at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Bay is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
Bay suffered their closest defeat yet this season on Tuesday. They fell just short of Cuyahoga Heights by a score of 50-47.
Despite their defeat, Bay saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Evan Alexy, who scored 15 points, was perhaps the best of all. Another player making a difference was Max Cockburn, who scored nine points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Holy Name waltzed into their matchup on Friday with two straight wins but they left with three. They claimed a resounding 73-46 victory over Buckeye at home. Holy Name has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matchups by 20 points or more this season.
Bay has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season. As for Holy Name, their victory bumped their record up to 7-5.
Bay didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Holy Name in their previous meeting back in January of 2021, but they still walked away with a 80-75 victory. Will Bay repeat their success, or does Holy Name have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
