Corning (N.Y.) grabbed a lead in the first quarter and rode that momentum to a 38-12 win over
Ithaca (N.Y.).
The Hawks scored 14 points in the first quarter. Corning scored on a
Zack Bush touchdown run and a touchdown run.
After taking the lead on a touchdown run by Bush in the first quarter, CHS led 31-0 at the half.
JM Tokar stood out for the Hawks in the win. The senior running back kicked one field goal and four extra points.
Coming into the game Corning had allowed 19.0 points per game this year.
When the two teams played each other last season, CHS came away with a 42-6 victory.
The Hawks (5-1) will play a non-conference game against Union-Endicott next week. The Tigers have put together a 5-0 record on the year so far.
