The Livermore Cowboys will head out to challenge the California Grizzlies at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Livermore is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.5 runs per game this season.

On Tuesday, Livermore needed a bit of extra time to put away Carondelet. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Cougars, sneaking past 9-8. The Cowboys haven't had any issues with the Cougars recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

The team relied heavily on Gianna Willes, who got on base in five of her six plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. What's more, she posted three hits, the most she's had since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Kymber Dao, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with one run.

Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, California's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell just short of Granada by a score of 6-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Grizzlies have suffered since March 20th.

Jayda Crosby was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with two runs and one RBI. Reese Stiner was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI.

Livermore's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-6. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for California, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-6.

Livermore came out on top in a nail-biter against California in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, sneaking past 6-5. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cowboys since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
