Baseball Game Preview: Alcoa Tornadoes vs. Austin-East Roadrunners

For the second straight game, Alcoa will face off against Austin-East. The Tornadoes are taking a road trip to face off against the Roadrunners at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Alcoa has five straight wins, Austin-East has 25 straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Alcoa's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They blew past Austin-East 20-0. Considering the Tornadoes have won 14 matchups by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Carver Worde looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched.

At the plate, Levi Spivey was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Miles Watson was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

Alcoa always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .750. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Austin-East's defeat dropped their record down to 0-18. As for Alcoa, their record now sits at 18-4.

Austin-East's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Tuesday. Alcoa has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9.2 strikeouts per game.
