On Friday, Mt. Diablo are packing up and heading on the road for the first time this season. They face off against Hercules at 4:30 PM. Both teams will be looking for a pick-me-up after considerable defeats in their previous games.
Mt. Diablo couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They ended up forfeiting their game against Armijo 0-49 on Friday. The game was a 0-0 toss-up at halftime, but Mt. Diablo was outplayed in the second half.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 0-38, which was the final score in Hercules's tilt against Middletown last Friday. Hercules were down by 0-32 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
With both teams hitting sour notes in their previous games, they will no doubt be looking to produce a better score. We'll see if Mt. Diablo is able to find more success (and make for a more exciting contest than their last) when the teams meet up.
