The West Point Pointers will head out on the road to square off against the King & Queen Central Royal Tigers at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. West Point has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
Last Wednesday, West Point was able to grind out a solid win over Colonial Beach, taking the game 44-37.
Meanwhile, King & Queen Central beat Charles City 49-37 on Thursday. The win made it back-to-back wins for King & Queen Central.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead King & Queen Central to victory, but perhaps none more so than Alyiah Riley, who scored 15 points. It was the first time this season that Riley scored 15 or more points. Amelia Moaney was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
West Point's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-8. Those victories, didn't necessarily come from the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 27.0 points per game. As for King & Queen Central, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 11-8 record this season.
West Point and King & Queen Central were neck-and-neck in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, but West Point came up empty-handed after a 41-40 loss. Can West Point avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
