On Wednesday, Valle Catholic was able to grind out a solid victory over Chester, taking the game 48-39. Given Valle Catholic's advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 188th in Missouri, while Chester is ranked 380th in Illinois), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Despite the loss, Chester had strong showings from Lexie Mott, who scored 12 points along with 9 rebounds and 4 steals, and Aubrey Colvis, who scored 6 points along with 6 rebounds.
Valle Catholic now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Chester, they bumped their record down to 4-4 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Valle Catholic will take on Potosi at 7:30 p.m. on December 14th. Chester will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Okawville at 7:15 p.m. on December 7th. Okawville is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 55.8 points per game.
