East is 1-9 against Murray since April of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Leopards will look to defend their home field against the Spartans at 3:30 p.m. East is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.1 runs per game this season.
East not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since March 18th (when they won 17-2). They were the clear victors by a 13-1 margin over Cottonwood. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Leopards.

Cannon Lunt made a splash while hitting and pitching. He tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. East is 10-1 when Lunt posts two or more runs, but 3-7 otherwise.
In other batting news, East got a big performance out of Josh Treend, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Colton Hughes, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
East was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .476. They are a perfect 9-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Murray didn't have quite enough to beat Cottonwood on Tuesday and fell 5-4.
Brody Sofonia was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-4 with one home run. Taylor Shelton was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Murray's loss dropped their record down to 6-12. As for East, their win bumped their record up to 13-8.
Murray's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: East has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .450. It's a different story for Murray, though, as they've only averaged .356. Will they be able to contain East's hitters?
