Softball Recap: Salisbury Township Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Salisbury Township, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Catasauqua Rough Riders with a sharp 11-1 win on Monday. Considering the Falcons have won seven matches by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Leilanna Negron was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with four RBI, one triple, and one run. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Amelia Swoyer, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs and two doubles.

Salisbury Township was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .423. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Catasauqua only posted a batting average of .211.

Salisbury Township's victory bumped their record up to 8-9-1. As for Catasauqua, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 0-10.

Looking ahead, Salisbury Township will face off against Saucon Valley at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Panthers will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Falcons surely won't give up without a fight. As for Catasauqua, they will welcome Northwestern Lehigh at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
