Balboa School scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They really took it to Mitchell for the full four quarters, racking up a 99-47 win at home. That 52 points margin sets a new team best for Balboa School this season.
Leading Balboa School to victory were Kendall Connor and Vito Albanese. Connor dropped a double-double on 18 points and 18 rebounds, while Albanese went 6 for 8 from beyond the arc en route to 30 points and 1 assist. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Albanese has scored all season. Jamaal Phatty was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with seven rebounds.
Mitchell lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Connor Peterson, who scored 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cayden Thomas, who scored four points.
Balboa School pushed their record up to 8-8 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.5 points per game. As for Mitchell, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-11.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Balboa School will take on Victory Rock Prep at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Victory Rock Prep comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Mitchell, Mitchell and Wesley Chapel will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 23rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Averaging 75.4 so far this season, Wesley Chapel's high-powered offense has been in full-swing lately, so Mitchell better be ready for a challenge.
