After flying high against Valley Center  last Wednesday, Ramona came back down to earth. The Bulldogs fell just short of the Mt. Carmel Sundevils by a score of  7-6 on Friday. The Bulldogs have struggled against the Sundevils recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.
  Serenity Hayes was cooking despite her team's loss,   going 1-for-3 with two  runs and two  RBI. Another player making a difference was  Evie Brown, who  went 2-for-4 with two  runs and one  stolen base.
Ramona's loss dropped their record down to 7-12-1. As for Mt. Carmel, they have  been performing  well recently as they've  won five of their last six matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 10-9 record  this season.
 We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Ramona is set to  take on  their familiar foe Escondido  at 4:00  p.m.  on Monday. Meanwhile, Mt. Carmel will  square off against  rival Westview  at 4:00  p.m.  on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few  runs on average (the Sundevils 3.8, the Wolverines 2.6) so any  runs scored will be well earned.
